This is far too much material for an introduction. There should not be entire listings in an introduction.

I recommend you ask questions about this kind of thing.

This needs a very short introduction of a single paragraph.

This is how this section gets rendered in the book. It is still small.
My thought process while making this the introduction was to have the conditional statemebts get "introduced" with just the if statements, and that is why I made it this way.

What do you suggest we do instead?

A intruduction should actually be intruductory and SHORT. It should NOT have listings and other important content.

@habibasorour You can make the first sentence its own paragraph and put it into the introduction, but having actual content in the introduction is problematic in a number of ways.
