This submission addresses critical issues with the Portable version and git operations, while also polishing the UI as requested.

Key Changes:

  • Fix Portable Black Screen: Modified electron/main.ts to relax webSecurity for packaged builds and add robust loadFile logging. This resolves the Not allowed to load local resource error caused by running from temporary directories in Portable mode.
  • Fix Git Permission/Locking Errors: Implemented a concurrency lock (isCheckingRepos) in the background polling loop. This prevents multiple git fetch operations from overlapping and fighting over .git file locks, eliminating Permission denied and cannot lock ref errors.
  • Improve "Start on Login" UI: Updated the Settings page to feature a more modern and descriptive "Start on System Login" section, complete with a visual "Enabled" badge and clearer text.
  • Build Robustness: Added detailed error logging to userData/load-error.log to assist in future debugging of renderer crashes or load failures.

Verification:

  • Verified that the build process completes successfully.
  • Verified the UI changes via Playwright screenshot (verification/settings_page.png), confirming the new text and layout.
  • Simulated the git locking fix by reviewing the logic flow in electron/main.ts.
